FAMILY SPOTLIGHT
Meet Johnny
When Johnny arrived at the Aspen Winter Games in 2024, the 11-year-old brain tumor survivor was nervous to try snowboarding for the first time. But throughout the week, something special happened. With one-on-one adaptive instruction and encouragement from new friends, Johnny discovered that despite all he had been through, he could still challenge himself, try new things, and accomplish more than he ever dreamed was possible. On race day, he was proudly carving down the mountain as a confident snowboarder.
Since then, Johnny and his family have joined us for several family programs, where his parents and siblings have found the same support and community that helped Johnny thrive at Winter Games. Their story is a beautiful example of what happens when families find adventure, friendship, and a caring community that reminds them they are never alone.
